I noticed this was said on the thread a few times and it is also the case for me. That would mean you'd have to route the mixer for EVERY single kit, then save EVERY single kit only so you can audition them through your saved kits.ģ. Also, "saving" the kit is not the answer to this. Although this wouldn’t be as convenient because you’d still have to load the mixer settings every time you audition a new kit.
Or at the very least, “save mixer” settings. I believe the mixer should just stay put no matter what you do, and they’re could be a “reset mixer” button. And as soon as you want to audition a new kit, the mixer resets. It takes a while to set the mixer in multi out mode. Otherwise the preset kits would be too chaotic and probably wouldn't sound very good if all options were on and up.Ģ. A good way to have this setup is to configure each kit the way you guys (team slate) think it sounds great, and let the user adjust (this is how TT and AD do it). In other words, you could have the snare bleed to every channel if you like. And to do so without "giving up" the option to send the bleed to another channel once one bleed channel is selected. For example, if the user wants the snare to bleed to the overhead, room and hats, that would be possible. Allow all drums to be bled wherever the user likes. It would be nice to have the map stick when changing kits but as long as the map loading works well it's not a big deal for me to load it each time.ġ. I'll have to look at it again when I get home but I tried to change the Input Note many times without luck, but the Output column lets me assign any output note to any input being could be I am just simply using the terms incorrectly.
Re: the mapping, I think I am doing the same thing just the other way around somehow? For instance, in the example you gave I would go to the mapping window and assign the A1 output note to the C1 input. Second, the above info on mixing techniques will be awesome!! StevenFirst of all thanks for the replies, I know you are extremely busy. because the idea is to load a midi file and be able to audition various preset kits without having to keep reloading midi maps. There is an issue where maps are getting saved to preset kits, and I'm going to look into this and clean it up with the devs. With the mapping section, you should be able to go to the snare in SSD4 which has an input an output of A1 (again this is not the actual note its just for example), and change the input to C1 to match AD. Paul, lets say hypothetically that AD's snare rimshot is C1, but SSD4 is A1.

it will go over routing the kit to Pro Tools, adding eq and compression, parallel compression and eq, working with Room Mics, special delay effects, snare tricks. Shadow, YES!! I have some great drum mixing techniques that I will share in some tutorial videos. I'm really rootin' for you guys (which is why I'm taking the time to make these lists)! And as always, the drums sound fantastic! It's just not ready (at least for me) to use in a real-life session. I said this in a previous post but in case you missed it: I started a session yesterday and tried, really tried to use SSD 4 but there are way too many things missing. Also, it's a totally different beast than SSD 4.0 so I don't think it'd be stepping on it's toes. All we need is the mapping setting and that's it. All you do is select the "SSD 4 Map" once at the beginning (if it was there).Īlso, wouldn't this mean you'd have to change the map for every groove you're auditioning? EZPlayer Pro is just soooo easy to use and lots of people (including me) have 1000's of grooves organized in there. And it's very simple to just audition 100 grooves if you wanted to one after another after another.no mapping.no anything.
STEVEN SLATE DRUMS 4 TUTORIAL HOW TO
Few things: I see so much talk about redoing midi with EZ Player, but I wonder why no one simply just resets the input map in SSD4 to match whatever midi format they desire? I just did this and it works great.Hi Slate-įor me, I don't know how to do that.
